Auditor-General Submits Report on Illegal Export of Charcoal from Somalia to the Attorney-General

Somalia’s Office of the Auditor-General has submitted a report on the recent illegal export of charcoal into the country.

The Auditor-General’s office submitted the report to the Attorney-General on Wednesday, June 1.

Recently, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble fired the Minister of Foreign Affairs over the same issue.

Abdisaid Muse Ali, the current foreign affairs minister, had written a letter allowing the ship carrying the charcoal to travel illegally.

Currently, the ship is off the coast of Oman.

The Attorney-General has been waiting for the report from the Auditor-General before taking further action on the matter.
