An award ceremony was held at Royal Palace Hotel to recognize and celebrate the best health workers in Somalia.
Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, the Minister of Health, attended the ceremony, which took place on Thursday, October 8.
Workers from different parts of the country were feted for providing quality health services to Somalis despite the ongoing challenges.
Somalia is currently grappling with COVID-19 pandemic, which has hit the healthcare systems in the country hard.
Some of the challenges that health workers continue to face include ongoing floods and the locust invasion coupled with increased insecurity.
