Hamza Abdi Barre has taken the time to express gratitude to the federal parliament for approving his appointment as the new Prime Minister of Somalia.
Parliament approved Barre’s appointment as Prime Minister unanimously.
The federal parliament held a session on Saturday, June 25 specifically to debate President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s choice of Prime Minister.
All the 220 Members of Parliament (MPs) who attended the session approved Barre as the new Prime Minister.
Later in the day, Barre thanked the leadership and membership of parliament for the approval.
He assured parliament that he would form a government that is not only capable but also ready to pursue developmental and humanitarian priorities for the entire nation.
