Somalia’s Prime Minister visited the headquarters of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) to ascertain the level of preparedness for the impending El Nino rains.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre was at the SODMA headquarters on Saturday.
He held talks with senior officers of the organization.
The officials briefed Prime Minister Barre on the measures they already put in place to prepare for the El Nino rains, which are expected to be quite disruptive and destructive.
Somalia is scheduled to receive El Nino rains from October to November.
