Bihi Accuses FGS of Holding the People of Somalia Hostage

President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland has accused the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) of holding its citizens “hostage.”

Bihi was speaking on March 9.

He commented on the prevailing situation in Somalia, which is caught up in a political storm as the country prepares for elections.

In his address, President Bihi said that “the people of Somalia are held hostage” by their own government.

Further, he accused FGS of “sowing division and discord among Somalis.”

Bihi further hit out at the government, whose term ended on February 8, of ruling Somalia without any “constitutional mandate.”
