President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland sent congratulatory messages to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for winning the United States presidential elections.
The United States held presidential polls on November 3, 2020.
Incumbent President Donald Trump and his Vice President Mike Pence faced off against Democrat Joe Biden in the polls.
After three days of voting and counting of votes, Biden and Harris were confirmed the President-Elect and Vice President-Elect respectively.
While congratulating the two winners, Bihi reminded them of the role that the US has played as one of Somaliland’s “most reliable partners and allies.”
Bihi reassured Biden and Harris that Somaliland is ready to work with the US to bolster democracy and global security.
Somaliland is also gearing up for its own elections in 2021.
