The body of a 12-year old girl who has been missing for two weeks has been recovered at a forest in Galmudug state.
The girl, who was identified as Aisha Mohamed Shanle, disappeared from home on June 22, 2020. Since then, her family has made frantic efforts to locate her without much success.
However, authorities have now confirmed that the remains of a girl found in Galmudug near a forest in Gudinlabe were Aisha’s.
Moreover, authorities have examined the body and noticed signs of rape and other bodily injuries.
Workers in Firhad town noticed a foul smell at a site where they were digging for stones. A brief search led them to the source of the bloodcurdling smell.
Upon finding her, they noticed that her legs and hands were tied tightly.
