Burundi’s African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops have been accused of killing a Somali mother while her kids watched.
The incident took place in Burane, a village near Mahaday Town in Middle Shabelle.
The Burundian troops, which are the second largest in AMISOM, were on a military operation in the area on Tuesday, October 20.
Reports indicate that they had earlier been attacked by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) while on a military patrol.
Consequently, they launched an attack in which the Somali mother was killed in front of her young children.
Her family and the residents are now demanding justice from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and AMISOM.
