A candidate in the upcoming elections for the Speaker of the Lower House held a meeting with foreign envoys on April 17.
Adan Madobe, who is a former parliamentary Speaker, met with the envoys in Mogadishu on Sunday.
James Swan, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Somalia, led the other foreign envoys meeting Madobe.
Madobe has thrown his name into the hat for elections to choose the next Speaker of the House of the People.
Thus far, the issues that Madobe and the foreign diplomats discussed in today’s meeting remain unknown.
