Caynsane Mohamed has been elected the Chairman of the Puntland Media Guild for the second time.
He won elections conducted on February 28 in Garowe, the administrative capital of the semiautonomous state of Puntland.
Caynsane was elected by journalists who attended the media guild’s 4th General Assembly on Sunday.
He was elected for the first time three years ago.
Journalists who reelected him cited the excellent work he has done in advocating for media rights in a region that treats members of the fourth estate harshly.
With his reelection confirmed, Caynsane is now scheduled to serve for the next three years.
