The Central Bank of Somalia (CBS) held a training on the detection of counterfeit US$.
The Currency Department of the Central Bank organized the training.
On Monday, representatives from commercial banks and money transfer institutions were at the training.
Central Bank seeks to empower commercial banks and money transfer institutions to not only detect but also combat counterfeit US currency in Somalia.
It endeavors to do so by complying with the Convention for the Suppression of Counterfeiting Currency.
Global institutions and governments signed the convention in Geneva on April 20, 1929.
