CEO of Somali Petroleum Authority Promises Investors More Transparency

Ibrahim Ali Hussein, the Chief Executive Officer of Somali Petroleum Authority (SPA), has promised investors more “transparency, openness, and accountability.”

Hussein made this promise during his online discussions with a panel of experts on hydrocarbon investments.

The session between SPA’s CEO and the experts took place on Monday, October 19.

Hussein opted for a virtual meeting, as one of the measures designed to curb the spread of the deadly COVID-19.

While addressing the panel of experts, Hussein also took the opportunity to outline the role his newly formed organization, SPA, has to play in the industry.

He also hailed the decision by the government to appoint six directors, each from a different region in Somalia, as commitment to the principles of non-discrimination and accountability.
