Chief Justice Bashe Yusuf Ahmed has sworn in new parliamentarians in Mogadishu.
The Chief Justice led the new House of the People (Lower House) and Senate (Upper House) parliamentarians in taking their oaths of office on April 14.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the heavily guarded Halane Base Camp.
Consequently, the country has now passed one of the most important hurdles, which paves the way for the election of the new President of Somalia.
First, though, the parliamentarians have to elect the Speaker of the Lower House and Speaker of the Upper House.
