On December 14, China called for increased cooperation on the Belt and Roads Initiative (BRI) with Somalia.
President Xi Jinping of China made this call on Monday.
In his statement, President Jinping said that his government was prepared to work closely with President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s administration.
“We are ready to work increasingly closer together to enhance Belt and Roads Initiative with Somalia,” President Jinping said.
Jinping made these remarks when he sent a congratulatory message to President Farmaajo whose country was celebrating the 60th Anniversary of close diplomatic ties with China.
President Jinping said that China and Somalia have understood, helped, and supported each other over the last 60 years of close diplomatic and bilateral relations.
