Civil society groups in Somalia have requested that the February 15 talks between Federal Government of Somalia (FMS) and Federal Member States (FMS) should be held in Mogadishu.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo had announced the resumption of elections talks.
In his announcement, Farmaajo recommended that the fresh round of talks should take place in Garowe from February 15.
Somali Civil Society Coalition released a statement on February 12 advising political leaders to hold the talks in the nation’s capital.
Apart from asking for the venue to be shifted to Mogadishu, the Coalition also requested to be involved in the talks to find solutions to the electoral impasse.
