Intense clashes broke out between two factions of Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) forces in Dhusamareb town on February 12.
The clashes pitted forces loyal to Abdirahman Abdishakur and those pledging their allegiance to Abdullahi Kulane Jiis.
Abdishakur is the leader of the opposition Wadajir Party.
Jiis is a former Deputy Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
Abdishakur and Jiis are pitted against each other in elections for a federal parliamentary seat in Galmudug.
