The committee that was appointed recently to assess the ongoing situation in Garbaharey met with the Jubbaland leader on Friday.
Recently, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble appointed the seven-member committee to investigate the Garbaharey situation.
Garbaharey is Jubbaland’s second voting center after Kismayo.
However, the town has been unable to hold elections for federal parliamentary seats owing to ongoing tension.
The committee concluded its consultations on March 4 following a meeting it held in Kismayo with President Ahmed Islam Madobe.
Further, the committee also held consultations with several traditional elders from the region.
It’s now expected to prepare a report, which it would then submit to the Prime Minister.
