The construction of the new headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has kicked off officially.
The headquarters, which will be in Mogadishu, are to be built to the highest standards.
Once complete, they will provide CID with an excellent operational base in the nation’s capital.
Its construction is part and parcel of the Joint Police Programme, which Somalia has been leading.
The project, which is valued at $54 million, has several funders.
These include the European Union, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom, and the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
