The deadly COVID-19 disease has claimed the life of a senior Somali cleric.
Reports show that Sheikh Nur Baruud died of COVID-19 complications on the night of February 16 at De Martini Hospital in Mogadishu.
Sources indicate that Sheikh Baruud had fallen sick recently,
He was then rushed to hospital where he was tested for COVID-19. His results came back positive thus forcing the facility to admit him for further observation and medication.
Unfortunately, he passed away on Tuesday night.
Sheikh Baruud was born in 1950 in Ethiopia’s Somali Region.
