The death toll between Somali National Army (SNA) and Ahlu Sunna in Guri-El town has exceeded 120.
Ahlu Sunna is a former ally of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) in the fight against Al-Shabaab.
Since Saturday last week, SNA soldiers have engaged Ahlu Sunna fighters in a deadly clash.
The three-day fighting left 16 soldiers dead and 45 injured, according to a statement from Ahmed Shire Falagle, Galmudug’s Minister of Information.
Hassan Yare, an Ahlu Sunna spokesperson, stated that both sides had suffered casualties.
In Yare’s estimation, both sides lost 120 people with 600 more suffering various types of injuries.
The United Nations estimates that over 100,000 have been left displaced.
