The number of people who have lost their lives in the ongoing floods in Somalia has now risen to 31.
Daud Aweis, the Minister of Information, Tourism and Culture, confirmed this in his latest address.
Minister Aweis added that the floods have displaced hundreds of thousands of people around the country too.
Furthermore, fresh logistical challenges have arisen thus increasing health risks.
According to Aweis, different stakeholders confirmed that the floods could give way to an outbreak of waterborne diseases.
