The defense and internal security ministers briefed the Council of Cabinet on the progress of the ongoing counterterrorism operations in Somalia.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre chaired this week’s cabinet meeting.
Both ministers briefed their colleagues on the operations that the government continues to carry out around the country.
The Somali National Army (SNA) works closely with its international partners such as the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) and the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
This week alone, the joint operations have led to the deaths of over 200 Al-Shabaab militants.
