Somalia’s Minister of Defense, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, hosted German Special Envoy Ambassador Heiko Nitzschke at Villa Gaashaandhigga to discuss several issues.
Top on the list was the ongoing efforts against Al-Shabaab and the transition from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) to AU Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
Furthermore, the recent violations of Somalia’s sovereignty by Ethiopia featured strongly in their discussions.
During the meeting, Somalia affirmed its dedication to maintaining national security and defending its territorial integrity amid evolving regional dynamics.
