Somalia’s Minister of Defense has encouraged “brainwashed” Al-Shabaab youths to leave the militia group and surrender to authorities immediately.
Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, the defense minister, made this call on Saturday.
He spoke while on the frontlines in the regional state of Galmudug where he had gone to inspect the ongoing war against terrorists.
Nur told the youths who had joined Al-Shabaab that there is no place to hide.
“It is better for the youths in Al-Shabaab to surrender now before the army finds and kills them,” the defense minister said during his interview with state media.
