President Said Abdullahi Deni stands accused of deploying special forces trained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Garowe to stifle any form of dissent.
Opposition leaders spoke out against President Deni on Sunday.
They accused him of sending special forces from Bosaso to the administrative capital of Puntland.
Deni and opposition leaders have been at loggerheads regarding the elections due to take place in the region early next year.
