Hon. Sahal Mohamed Jama, Somaliland’s Deputy Minister of Transport, has been distributing food rations to needy residents of Dhahar, Eastern Sanaag.
He has been performing that task on behalf of the National Disaster Preparedness and Food Reserve Agency (NADFOR).
Hon. Jama, who has been on a working tour of the region for the past few weeks, donated the food to over 500 low-income families in Dhahar.
Local residents thanked him, the government, and NADFOR the kind gesture, especially as they grapple with the effects of COVID-19, locust infestation, and heavy flash floods.
Further, they also asked the government of President Musa Bihi Abdi to initiate development projects in the region too.
Several officials in the region, including the District Police Commander, confirmed that they received the donations from the Deputy President.
