The Director of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Emergencies has called for more funds to help over 800,000 of the most vulnerable Somalis.
Rein Paulsen, the Director of FAO Emergencies issued the plea for increased funding on July 28.
He spoke while touring various parts of the East African nation to evaluate the impact of the ongoing drought.
According to Paulsen, increased funding would enable the organization to help 800,000 of the most vulnerable people in Somalia.
Paulsen mentioned that the funding would allow FAO Emergencies to scale up the cash that it provides to the people most affected by the ongoing drought.
The cash would enable such individuals to buy food for their families.
It would also allow them to buy fodder for their livestock, thus ensuring that young children can access quality milk regularly.
