Ahmed Salihi, the Director of Radio Markabley in Somalia was arrested on Monday, November 2 in Bardere.
Security sources confirmed that Salihi is under detention now.
Further, Salihi’s colleagues state that police officers arrested him with other journalists working for the radio station too.
The arbitrary arrest was because of a recent interview that Salihi allowed his employees to broadcast.
The interview focused on the upcoming elections in the East African nation.
His and the other journalists’ arrest took place on the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalist, which is celebrated globally on November 2.
