A district commissioner in Mogadishu was hurt on Thursday, November 12 when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blasted his car.
Abdihakim Dhega-jun, the Hodon District Commissioner, was hurt during the blast that took place in the capital’s 21 October Road.
Local security officers confirmed that the incident occurred in the evening.
According to the local officers, two of the District Commissioner’s bodyguards were killed during the incident.
The District Commissioner was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for his wounds.
The incident is the latest by extremists targeting government officers around the East African nation.
