Djibouti has received plenty of praise from the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) for mediating the clashes in Las Anod.
IGAD commended President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti for leading efforts to reconcile the warring parties in Las Anod.
Las Anod has been the scene of deadly and violent clashes over the last few weeks between Puntland and Somaliland.
Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, the IGAD Secretary-General, said that Djibouti played a critical role in silencing the sounds of war in the area.
Dr. Gebeyehu urged President Guelleh not to relent but to proceed with the reconciliatory and mediation efforts.
