An airstrike reportedly targeted and killed a dozen Al-Shabaab militants, including senior figures, in the town of Sablale, located in Somalia’s Lower Shabelle region.
The operation was carried out by Somali government forces in coordination with international partners, as part of ongoing efforts to weaken the militant group’s control in the region.
The strike specifically targeted Al-Shabaab positions and resulted in the destruction of their facilities and equipment.
This comes amid intensified military campaigns by the Somali government to eliminate Al-Shabaab strongholds across the country.
