Dozens of Somalis Deported from the US after Losing Asylum Case

Dozens of Somali nationals were deported from the United States after they lost an asylum case.

According to reports from the United States, at least 70 Somalis were ordered out of the country on January 15, 2021.

They had filed a lawsuit in court against the Department of Immigration.

Friday’s incident is one of the most dramatic of outgoing President Donald Trump’s tenure.

Since his election in 2016 as the President of the United States, Trump has imposed several stringent immigration rules and policies.

These policies made him quite unpopular with refugees, Black Americans, and Latinos.

Some of the 70 Somalis deported from the US have lived in the country for over 30 years.

Unfortunately, they were deported after losing their asylum case. They were bundled into an airplane that departed on Friday.

The plane is scheduled to land in Nairobi, Kenya on Saturday.
