The ongoing drought in Somalia has caused acute malnutrition in 45 out of the 74 districts in the country.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced this worrying statistic on April 24.
As per the OCHA report, hunger and malnutrition have become the order of the day in the East African nation.
Failed rains for consecutive seasons have worsened the situation in not only Somalia but the entire Horn of Africa region.
Other countries such as Ethiopia, Eritrea, Tanzania, Kenya, Djibouti, Sudan, and South Sudan are equally affected.
The southern part of Somalia is one of the worst affected.
Children in these southern areas are the largest victims of acute malnutrition.
