This week, Egypt’s Foreign Affairs Minister Badr Abdelatty issues a statement touching on the ongoing diplomatic row between Somalia and Ethiopia.
His statement highlighted Egypt’s ongoing support for Somalia’s sovereignty and its concerns over regional stability.
Abdelatty vowed that Egypt would not stand by and watch Somalia’s sovereignty being abused or breached.
Furthermore, he labelled the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Ethiopia signed with Somaliland as “unlawful.”
The MoU is the genesis of the months-long row between Ethiopia and Somalia.
