El-Sisi Says Egypt’s Commitment to AUSSOM Isn’t a Threat to Any Country

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to the new African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).

He added that Egypt’s commitment to the new AU mission in Somalia, which became operational on January 1 this year, highlights an important regional partnership.

His assurance that the mission poses “no threat to any country” is crucial for promoting trust among neighboring states, while emphasizing Egypt’s support for Somalia’s security and stability.

With Somalia facing ongoing challenges from militant groups like Al-Shabaab, the backing of powerful regional actors like Egypt could provide valuable resources and strategic assistance for peacekeeping and rebuilding efforts in Somalia.

This could also enhance broader regional stability within the Horn of Africa.
