Elections for the 16 remaining House of the People (Lower House) seats in Jubbaland have been moved from Garbaharey to El-Wak.
The Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT) announced this development on Thursday.
There had been fears that the Lower House would resume its sitting without elected representatives from the 16 seats.
According to FEIT, Garbaharey is not the right venue or center for these elections.
In a letter dated April 14, FEIT cited growing insecurity in Garbaharey as one of the reasons behind the decision to relocate the polls to El-Wak.
