Electoral talks between the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and the Federal Member States (FMS) have resumed in Mogadishu. The talks have been taking place since April 3-4. Leaders from FGS and FMS took a brief break on Monday after Galmudug regional leader returned home for a bit of work. Those present at the Wednesday session appear to be upbeat about the fate of the discussions. Those representing FGS at the talks include President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble. Galmudug’s President Ahmed Karie Qoorqoor, HirShabelle’s President Ali Guudlaawe, and Jubbaland’s President Ahmed Islam Madobe are some of FMS’ representatives. Others from FMS include Puntland’s President Said Abdullahi Deni and Southwest’s President Abdiaziz Hassan Laftagareen. Omar Filish, the Governor of Banadir Regional Administration (BRA), who doubles as the Mayor of Mogadishu, is attending the talks too.
