Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Taye Atske Selassie, during a press briefing in Addis Ababa, expressed that Ethiopia is keen on resolving the disagreements with the central government of Somalia through diplomatic channels.
The minister declared this on Friday.
This statement underscores Ethiopia’s interest in engaging in dialogue and negotiation to address any bilateral issues and maintain regional stability.
Such an approach aligns with Ethiopia’s broader regional diplomatic efforts and indicates a willingness to de-escalate tensions and find common ground with Somalia.
Lately, the diplomatic ties between Somalia and Egypt appear to be deteriorating further.
The genesis of this is the agreement Ethiopia and Somaliland signed on January 1 this year.
Somalia has repeatedly accused Ethiopia of meddling in its internal affairs while breaching its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
