Ethiopian authorities have thwarted an attempt by the Al-Shabaab militia group to smuggle arms into the country.
Reports from the state media indicate that Ethiopian troops seized a cache of weapons that included 50 AK47 guns.
They also seized 10 rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and 50 handguns.
Al-Shabaab fighters had attempted to smuggle the weapons into the Somali Region of Ethiopia.
Ethiopian forces seized the arms at Barey district in Dewi Kebele.
Additionally, authorities also arrested eight people suspected to be members of the Al-Shabaab militia group.
