The European Union (EU) has condemned the deadly terror attack that rocked Beledweyne on Wednesday this week.
The March 23 attack left scores of people dead and dozens more injured.
A recent update from HirShabelle’s President Ali Gudlawe shows that the attack has killed around 50 people and left more than 100 Somalis injured.
Amina Mohamed Abdi, a female Member of Parliament (MP) from the region, lost her life in the attack.
Tiina Intelmann, EU’s Ambassador to Somalia, issued a statement on the attack.
She linked the deadly attack to Somali politics.
The East African nation is currently in the middle of House of the People (Lower House) elections.
In her statement, Ambassador Intelmann said that violence can never be a sign of progress for Somalia.
She also took the opportunity to send messages of condolences to the families and friends of those who died in the Beledweyne attack.
