A former President of HirShabelle has called upon Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to withdraw government troops from the region.
Ex-President Mohamed Abdi Ware urged Prime Minister Roble to pull the federal troops from HirShabelle on February 17.
Specifically, he mentioned the Haramacad and Gorgor forces.
The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) deployed the troops to the region to stop the attacks led by rebels loyal to General Abukar Haji Warsame Huud.
Ware’s comments come in the wake of news that rebels shot and killed Mohamed Hussein Duurdage, the Commissioner of HirShabelle Police Force.
In ex-President Ware’s views, the federal troops are in the region specifically for electioneering purposes.
