A former head of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) now wants the federal electoral body to lift the suspension of his electoral victory.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble sacked Fahad Yasin last year as the NISA Director.
Recently, Yasin won elections held in Beledweyne for a federal parliamentary seat.
However, the Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT) canceled his victory.
Now, Yasin has taken this matter to the court.
He wants to attempt to convince the court to overturn FEIT’s decision to deny him the chance to represent his constituents after winning the elections.
Currently, FEIT is issuing certificates to newly elected lawmakers.
The electoral body has already invited newly elected lawmakers to Mogadishu for the swearing-in ceremony, which is set for April 14.
