A former minister in the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) lost parliamentary elections in Beledweyne.
Abdullahi Godah Barre, a former FGS Minister of Education, lost in the elections carried out on March 23.
Beledweyne is the second voting center in the regional state of HirShabelle.
Barre vied for the elections, which are taking place several days after the March 15 deadline for concluding parliamentary polls around the country.
He lost despite having served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for his constituency over the last four years.
