President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has been accused of signing a fresh battle revolving around the elections by signing an unconstitutional resolution.
This week, Farmaajo signed the resolution passed by the House of Representatives (Lower House) increasing to 13 the seats held by Mogadishu in the Senate (Upper House).
However, Farmaajo now stands accused of opening a fresh battlefront involving the Upper House and Lower House.
Those opposed to the signing of the resolution say that Farmaajo assented to the resolution without involving the Upper House.
The Senate is now likely to have 67 members after Banaadir Region saw the number of its representatives increase to 13.
Farmaajo signed the resolution at a time when the country has been grappling with an electoral impasse that appears nowhere near ending soon.
