Farmaajo Addresses Lower House on Collapsed Dhusamareb Talks

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo addressed the House of Representatives (Lower House) on February 6.

Farmaajo’s address focused on the collapsed Dhusamareb talks, which ended on Friday.

The President of Somalia arrived back from the National Consultative Conference on elections, which had been taking place in the Galmudug State capital since Monday.

President Farmaajo’s address was interrupted severally when Members of Parliament (MPs) either cheered or jeered him.

In his address, Farmaajo argued that his administration had made several concessions to the Federal Member States (FMS) but that was seemingly never enough.

Furthermore, he called for the implementation of the elections agreement signed on September 17, 2020.

Farmaajo urged all leaders to recommit to the full implementation of the September 17 elections deal, as it is the best hope for the nation.
