Farmaajo Agrees to Make Compromises to Solve Elections Crisis

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has agreed to make compromises to solve Somalia’s elections impasse.

While addressing international partners on January 30, President Farmaajo told them that his administration was willing to compromise to solve electoral crisis.

Farmaajo’s meeting with the international partners took place at Villa Somalia on Saturday.

Somalia was scheduled to hold parliamentary elections in January 2021 but this seems unlikely to take place.

The East African nation is to hold presidential polls in February 2021.

Opposition parties have been adamant that the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has to make specific alterations to the composition of the polls body before holding elections.
