President Mohamed Farmaajo of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) held a closed-door meeting with President Ahmed Madobe of Jubbalanad in Dhusamareb.
The meeting between the two leaders is the first face-to-face encounter they have held since Madobe’s election as the President of Somalia’s semiautonomous region of Puntland.
Their first historic meeting lasted several hours at Galmudug State House.
The meeting takes place in the middle of the ongoing talks between FGS and the leaders of Federal Member States (FMS) in Galmudug’s administrative.
The nation’s leaders are holding the meeting to find solutions for the elections scheduled for later in 2020 and early in 2021.
