President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble led Somalia in mourning a former Prime Minister who died on November 18.
Omar Arte Qalib, a politician who served as Somalia’s Prime Minister between January 1991 and May 1993.
Previously, he had worked as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1969 to 1976.
During his tenure as the foreign affairs minister, Qalib played a crucial role in ensuring that Somalia joins the Arab League.
Farmaajo and Roble sent messages of condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Prime Minister Roble said that Qalib would be remembered for the dedicated and selfless service he offered to the East African nation.
