President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo appointed a national commission to investigate the unexplained death of a female intel officer.
The murder of Ikran Tahlil, an agent with the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) agent, has shocked Somalia.
Farmaajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble have been at loggerheads since news of Tahlil’s death emerged.
Roble has already sent two senior government officials home for the intel officer’s murder.
The five-member commission is expected to investigate the circumstances that led to Tahlil’s disappearance and eventual murder.
Two attorney generals are members of the commission. The attorney generals are from the military and civilian courts.
While appointing the commission, President Farmaajo said that the members will investigate the “sensitive” case independently.
