President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has decreed that Somalis in the country will henceforth celebrate August 14 as the National Anti-Corruption Day.
Farmaajo made this announcement on Saturday when he attended the launch ceremony of the Somali National Anti-Corruption Commission.
While making the announcement, Farmaajo said that the decree is evidence of the country’s “dedication towards relentless fight against corruption.”
President Farmaajo reminded the people of Somalia that the country can never enjoy national prosperity when corruption remains unabated.
